Teeth Whitening Products

There a numerous brands and products on the market that can be used to whiten your teeth. Typically, the most common types of teeth whitening can be performed either by your dentist in his office, bleaching your teeth yourself, or by using a whitening toothpaste. Obviously these approaches all differ in price, so having a budget will help in narrowing down your choice.

Most methods of Teeth Whitening will require the use of different bleaches. This is what is applied to the tooth's enamel to brighten the color and make it whiter in color. Typically, bleaches come in different concentrations (10%, 16%, and 22%). The more concentrated the chemical is, the better results you will see. However, a tooth's enamel can be sensitive, so it may be wise to begin whitening at home with a low bleach concentration. Most at-home whitening kits come with trays or strips in which you would over your teeth and let sit. The teeth sit in a gel substance (that contains bleach) until the allotted time is up. These kits are usually for periodic usage (14 days, 24 days). Whitening toothpastes are made for everyday use, but may not have the same dramatic effect as in office or at home whitening.
